Digital Excitation & Control System

DECS-100 Digital Excitation Control System
Amtech-Basler offers a high-powered, low-cost digital excitation control system, the DECS-100. This environmentally rugged product is ideally suited for controlling the output of brushless excited synchronous generators up to 5MW. The DECS-100 has a very impressive 7Adc output from a pulse width modulated power stage. The DECS-100 is perfect for machines that will be paralleled to other generators and/or to the utility system. It is ideal for distributed generation, co-generation and peak shaving applications. The DECS-100 is easy to use, and it has communications capability with a PC. The DECS-100 utilizes microprocessor technology and control algorithms pioneered by Amtech-Basler for longer than a decade. It shares many features and functions of our larger excitation control systems. The DECS-100 is Amtech-Basler's fifth generation of microprocessor-based excitation system.

15 Amp DECS DIGITAL EXCITATION CONTROL SYSTEM
Amtech-Basler's Digital Excitation System (DECS) provides customizable performance and high reliability. The microprocessor based design allows greater flexibility in setting all functions and adjustments to meet the most stringent applications. DECS is designed to operate on 50Hz and 60Hz brushless and brush-type generating systems requiring a maximum continuous current up to 15 amps at 32, 63, or 15 Vdc. DECS provides many features not available with analog type devices from precise voltage regulation to system protection. DECS receives its power from the generator k\line. VAR/Power Factor regulation and Field Excitation Limiting are now standard features within the DECS to provide expanded system control.

DECS-200 Digital Excitation Control System
One DECS-200 Digital Excitation Control System can accommodate 32Vdc, 63Vdc, or 125Vdc applications up to 15Adc. This unique flexibility provides precision control of generators of virtually any size. The DECS-200 also incorporates a pulse width modulated power stage, which improves system performances in non-linear load applications.

DECS-200N Negative Forcing Digital Excitation Control System
The DECS-200N is a very compact Negative Forcing Digital Excitation Control System. This compact design accommodates 63 Vdc and 125 Vdc applications up to 20 Adc continuously. The on-board six-thyristor controlled rectifier bridge offers the highest system performance possible, making the DECS-200N ideal for providing exceptional system response, which makes it suitable for applications requiring power system stabilizers.

DECS-300 Digital Excitation Control System
The DECS-300 Digital Excitation Control System is a microprocessor based device intended for generator power management. This device provides control signals for phase control of SCR bridges manufactured by Amtech-Basler . The DECS-300 provides precision control for generators of any size and is equally suited for exciter field or main field applications.

DECS-400 Digital Excitation Control System
The DECS-400 Digital Excitation Control System is a microprocessor-based controller that provides excitation control, flexible logic control, and optional power system stabilization for synchronous machines in an integrated package. The controller provides an analog output to control the firing of external bridge(s) and monitors machine parameters to control, limit, and protect the synchronous machine from operating beyond its capability limitations. The optional Power System Stabilizer is an IEEE-type PSS2A, dual input, "integral of accelerating power" stabilizer that provides supplementary damping for low-frequency local mode, inter area, and inter unit power system oscillations. Setup and initial operation are facilitated by Amtech-Basler's user-friendly BESTCOMS PC software that incorporates real time monitoring test analysis, flexible oscillography, trending, and expanded testing capabilities, including means for performing frequency response tests with a graphic display of results. PSS-100 Power System Stabilizer

The Power System Stabilizer Model PSS-100 is a two-input, microprocessor- based stabilizer that measures change of speed and change of power to produce the integral of accelerating power. The PSS-100 provides supplementary damping for low frequency power system oscillations ranging from 0.1 to 5.0Hz, which covers local mode, inter-area mode and inter-unit mode power system oscillations. The isolated ±10Vdc analog output of the PSS-100 is applied into the excitation system summing point to dampen the oscillations.

DGC-500 DIGITAL GENSET CONTROLLER
Amtech-Basler's Digital Genset Controller (DGC-500) offers a low cost microprocessor based integrated alternative for the control and monitoring of small to medium sized gensets. Control includes engine starting and shutdown as well as system monitoring and remote annunciation. DGC allows user inputs and programming to provide a reliable, customizable genset controller. This unique design has features not found in competitive models. It monitors and displays eight engine and generator parameters on the front panel and up to a total of 18 parameters via the front panel-scrolling feature. The DGC-500 offers one of the most flexible designs. It has user-definable alarms, pre-alarms, timers, cranking cycles, sender inputs, J1939 Engine Communications (optional), and programmable inputs and outputs.

DGC-1000 DIGITAL GENSET CONTROLLER With SAE J1939 communications
Amtech-Basler's Digital Genset Controller (DGC-1000) offers a low cost microprocessor based integrated alternative for the control and monitoring of small to medium sized gensets. Control includes engine starting and shutdown as well as system monitoring and remote annunciation. DGC allows user inputs and programming to provide a reliable, customizable genset controller. This unique design has features not found in competitive models. It monitors and displays eight engine and generator parameters on the front panel and up to a total of 28 parameters via the front panel-scrolling feature. The DGC-1000 offers one of the most flexible designs. It has user-definable alarms, pre-alarms, timers, cranking, sender inputs, J1939 Engine Communications, programmable inputs and outputs with the optional Auxiliary I/O feature and an on-board modem for external communication from virtually anywhere.

DGC-2000 DIGITAL GENSET CONTROLLER
Amtech-Basler's Digital Genset Controller (DGC-2000) offers an integrated alternative for genset control and monitoring. Control includes engine starting and shutdown as well as system monitoring and remote annunciation. DGC allows for user inputs and programming that provide a reliable, customizable genset controller. This unique design has features not found in any competitive models.

It permanently displays four engine parameters and four generator parameters. It also allows the user to scroll through 22 additional metering parameters.

Automatic Voltage Regulators

AVC63-12 and AVC125-10 Voltage Regulators
Using advanced technology and our many years of analog regulator design experience, Amtech-Basler offers two high powered, low-cost analog excitation controllers, the AVC63-12 and the AVC125-10. These environmentally rugged products are ideally suited for controlling the output of brushless excited synchronous generators up to 5MW. These devices offer higher-powered output and accept a variety of accessory items for new and retrofit applications where high performance and reliability are mandatory. These devices utilize a pulse width modulated power stage, state-of-the-art circuitry, and advanced methods of noise immunity. They are UL recognized, CSA certified, and CE compliant.

AVC63-4A VOLTAGE REGULATOR
Using enhanced technology, the AVC63-4A full wave voltage regulator is designed for use on 50/60 Hz brushless generators. This encapsulated regulator is small in size, ruggedly constructed, and incorporates solid state technology with frequency compensation, automatic voltage build-up, overexcitation shutdown, and EMI filtering as standard.

BE1-GPS100 GENERATOR PROTECTION SYSTEM
The BE1-GPS100 is a multifunction, programmable numerical protection, meter, and control relay. Functions provided include three phase voltage controlled, voltage restrained, or standard overcurrent, phase residual and independent ground overcurrent, negative sequence overcurrent, breaker failure, over/underfrequency, phase over/undervoltage, zero sequence over/undervoltage, and negative sequence overvoltage, forward or reverse power, loss of excitation, volts per hertz, sync check, sensitive third harmonic ground fault monitoring, breaker monitoring and control and metering functions, all in an integrated system.

BE1-1051 OVERCURRENT PROTECTION SYSTEM
The BE1-1051 is a multifunction, numeric relay with optional Ethernet, providing three phase, round, and negative sequence directional or non-directional overcurrent protection with permissive pilot logic, directional power, four shot recloser, breaker failure, over/underfrequency, over/undervoltage, sync check, breaker monitoring, control, and metering functions in an integrated system.

BE1-951 MULTIFUNCTION PROTECTION SYSTEM
The BE1-951 is a multifunction numerical relay that provides three phase, ground, and negative sequence directional or non-directional overcurrent protection with four shot recloser, forward or reverse power protection, breaker failure, over/underfrequency, over/under voltage and overexcitation protection, sync check, breaker monitoring and control, sequence-of-events recording, fault reporting, and metering functions, all in an integrated system.

BE1-CDS220 CURRENT DIFFERENTIAL PROTECTION SYSTEM
The BE1-CDS220 Current Differential Protection System is a 3 phase, 2 restraint multifunction, numerical relay that provides percentage restrained differential protection along with overcurrent, breaker failure, control, metering, monitoring, and alarm functions in an integrated system.

BE1-MMS100 MULTIFUNCTION METERING SYSTEM
The BE1-MMS100 is an economical, microprocessor based, multifunction revenue-accurate power metering system that provides multifunction revenue accurate power metering, contact status monitoring, and output control functions in an integrated system.

BE1-700V Digital Voltage/Frequency Protective Relay
The BE1-700V is a compact multifunction numeric relay that provides phase, zero sequence, and negative sequence voltage protection including over and under frequency, plus control and metering functions in an integrated system. Four shot reclosing with separate Pilot Initiate is available as an option. An onboard Ethernet option can provide Modbus/TCP connectivity or can provide web and email capabilities.
